WW2 Movies Worth A Damn: The Body Collector

In my humble opinion, some of the best World War Two Movies and Series are foreign made.

The most recent one I discovered is a  2016 mini-series from Holland called De Zaak Menten or “The Body Collector” .

It can be found on Amazon Prime on the Walter Presents Channel.

If you like Nazi Hunter type movies or series, you should definitely give this one a look.

It is The true story of how investigative journalist Hans Knoop attempted to uncover the truth behind Pieter Menten, a man responsible for the execution of Jewish families in Poland during the war. In Dutch with English subtitles.

While I am talking about Dutch movies, also be sure and check out one called Riphagen on Netflix.

The story about Riphagen, a cunning Dutch traitor during WW2 who helped Nazi round up Jews, stealing their treasures for himself. He destroyed Resistance groups, making many who pursued justice after the war look like fools.

Two World War Two Movies Worth A Damn

Fortress of War  (2010)

A 2010 Russian-Belarusian war film that recounts the events surrounding the June 1941 Defense of Brest Fortress.

My Way (2011)

My Way is a 2011 South Korean war film inspired by the true story of a Korean named Yang Kyoungjong who during World War II was conscripted into the Japanese, Soviet and the German Armies.

Both of these films are very well made and historically accurate. Well worth your time!

World War Two and Holocaust Movies Worth a Damn: Run Boy Run

“Run Boy Run” is a Polish made film with English subtitles that depicts the true story of a 10 year old boys struggle to stay alive in 1940’s Poland During World War Two. This is one of those stories where you keep wondering how much bad luck can one human being have, But as I have said before, it is good Holocaust and WW2 movies like this keep being made so we are all reminded of the horror that was life under Nazi rule. The ending of this movie is fantastic, for like in Schindlers List, you get to see the ultimate reward of Jewish Survival during the Holocaust: Generations of children.

Run Boy Run can be seen on Netflix.
