When Men Were Men: Fitzroy Maclean

With all of this pansy ass liberalism trying to turn our young boys men into girls through feminist ideology and transgender non-sense, I thought I would create a section where Masculinity was CELEBRATED by telling the stories of awesome MEN through the ages who not only represented the Male Species with flare but also defended Democracy and helped save the Free World as we know it.

Fitzroy Maclean Fought the Nazis, Blew Up Forts and Met a King

Fitzroy Maclean, a Scottish aristocrat and adventurer, was born into a military family in Cairo in 1911, and was educated at Eton and then Cambridge – playgrounds of the British elite. He lived a long and remarkable life. “To some people, my life might seem one long adventure holiday, blowing up forts in the desert, clandestinely parachuting into guerrilla wars, penetrating forbidden cities deep behind closed frontiers,” he said a year before his death in 1996.

A diplomat and accomplished linguist prior to the outbreak of World War II, and a successful writer, politician and documentary filmmaker afterward, Maclean would’ve been a noteworthy figure without his almost unbelievable exploits in the war. His contribution to the war effort would lead him to rise from the rank of private in 1941 to brigadier in 1945, be appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire and receive the Order of Khutuzov from the Soviet Union, the Croix de Guerre from France and the Order of the Partisan Star from Yugoslavia.

World War II History: New Book Shows That Operation Sealion Could Have Knocked Britain Out Of The War

It’s Startling How Close the Nazis Came to Invading Britain

(click on above link to be re-directed)

A New book suggest the German could have invaded Great Britain as early as 1940, which in no uncertain terms could have changed the outcome of the War. I have not read the book, but if this did occur I guess it begs the question: Would Hitler still have invaded Russia in 1941? I say No and if that was the case, Germany would have been in a much stronger position fighting just a one front versus a two front war.

World War II Movies Worth A Damn: Anthropoid

anthropoid_film

Hollywood is really going in guns blazing with World War Two movies in 2016 and 2017. Beside this one we also have coming up:

  • Allied
  • Dunkirk
  • USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage
  • Hacksaw Ridge

The newly released World War II movie Anthropoid starring Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, The Wind that Shakes the Barley) and Toby Jones (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) chronicles the true story of the Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich by Czechoslovakian Resistance in 1942.

For those of you interested in the history of SOE and OSS Operations During World War Two, you will like this one to be sure since this is one of the best examples of resistance fighters being trained and re-inserted into their home countries by the Special Operations Executive (SOE).

Often Hollywood screws up these amazing stories by trying to insert some sort of sappy love triangle and although an attempt is made in this movie to include some romance, it does not detract from the story at all.

When a Jewish Holocaust survivor ‘pissed’ on Hitler’s henchman

(click on above link to be re-directed)

I absolutely love finding stories like this about survivors of the Holocaust getting some type of revenge on Nazi’s. So many times the punishment the nazi’s received was not “personal” enough to fit the crime IMO, but here, it is all about personal!

Military Weapons From the Past: Himmler’s Sniper Presentation Sauer 38H Pistol

This pistol on display here is a Sauer model 38H (a much more common pistol in German WWII service than many people realize) that was made specially as a presentation piece. Heinrich Himmler presented these pistols to snipers who had killed 100 enemy soldiers – other prizes were offered for 50 (a leave from the front and a nice watch) and 150 (a hunting trip with Himmler himself). For 100, it appears that a sniper was given a choice of binoculars, hunting rifle, or these pistols.

How many were actually made and how many were actually awarded is not clear. The serial number of known examples are in a range from 475396 (which is this one) to 475409. Clearly, they were all made in once batch and then awarded as Himmler saw fit. An interesting artifact of the Nazi Party’s interaction with the German military!
