RKBA News: Strict Gun Control Did Not Stop Jihadist From Gathering Weapons Near German Mosque

Bullets

Police seized a “war grade weapons” arsenal near a mosque in the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. Local politician Ismail Tipi said the discovery “confirms his feelings that these fundamentalist Salafists groups are ready to use violence against the civilian population.”

Germany has ultra-strict gun control laws, which did not prevent Islamic jihadists from obtaining a massive cache of war-grade weapons. Aiming to disarm law-abiding Americans via more gun control legislation is farcical in the face of a jihadist war against America – and, in fact, the West in general. The more the Obama Administration and Western cowards waste time in denying this war, the more time the Islamic State, al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood et al have to plan their multi-level launches of jihad attacks and subversive incursions.

“European-style Gun Control Didn’t Stop Islamists From Gathering Weapons Near This German Mosque”, by Matt Vespa, Townhall, June 29, 2016:

A German police raid found what is believed to be a “war grade weapons” cache near a mosque in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine Westphalia). The arsenal belonged to a group of Islamic extremists. The UK’s Expresswrote that Germany has seen a spike in radical Islamists, and that the findings of this raid raised the concerns of Ismail Tipi, a German member of parliament, who says that it only confirms his feelings that these fundamentalist Salafists groups are ready to use violence against the civilian population:

Local politician Ismail Tipi revealed details of the raid and warned of “the danger of fundamentalists”.

Germany has seen sharp increases in the number of ultra-conservative Islamists known as Salafists in recent years, with the total number of sympathisers now seen at 8,900, up from 7,000 at the end of 2014, German officials said.

He said: “According to my information, a weapons arsenal with war grade weapons was found in this search.

“The danger of fundamentalist Salafists who are ready to use violence arming themselves in Germany is very large. This secret raid finding this weapons cache makes this more than clear.”

So, while Congressional Democrats wage war on Capitol Hill over passing more gun control to stop terrorism, which is absurd—let’s revisit the nation’s gun laws. To no one’s surprise, Germany has very strict gun control laws. There’s no constitutional right to bear arms, so the government can pass intrusive enforcement measures to ensure compliance, one of which is pretty much warrantless searches to make sure citizens are following safe storage regulations (via Library of Congress):

Germany has one of the most stringent gun control laws in the world. The current Weapons Act deals with guns suitable for private ownership. It contains a highly differentiated regime for licensing the acquisition, possession, and carrying of permitted weapons that restricts, according to criteria of need, the number and types of guns that can be owned or purchased, and has specific age restrictions for different types of weapons. The Act bans automatic firearms, regulates the production of and trade in weapons, and has reporting requirements that allow the tracing of every legally owned firearm, including those acquired through inheritance. Moreover, the Act contains stringent and enforceable requirements for the safe storage of guns. The Act is implemented by the administrative authorities of the states, except for the newly created National Weapons Register, which is a federal agency.

[…]

Germany categorizes firearms as either weapons of war or weapons suitable for civilian use. War weapons are listed in the War Weapons Act and cannot be circulated among the population.[48] Weapons that are potentially suitable for civilian use are governed by the Weapons Act and its prohibitions and restrictions.

The Weapons Act bans fully automated firearms. It also bans semiautomatic firearms that are not intended for hunting or sport shooting; pump-action shotguns with pistol grips or of a short overall length; firearms that are concealed in other objects; firearms that can be disassembled into unusually small parts; lasers, lights, projectors, and night-vision devices that can be mounted on the firearm to throw light on the target; and certain multiple-shot short arms in calibers under 6.3 millimeters, where the projectiles are not propelled solely by the priming charge.

[…]

Licensed gun owners are responsible for keeping their weapons under lock and key, and the law provides detailed specifications on the quality of the storage containers; these vary according to the potency of the weapons. Owners must inform the authorities of the safe-storage measures taken as well as allow the authorities to enter their dwellings for the purpose of monitoring compliance with safe-storage regulations.

It appears that such access must be granted without a search warrant, and, even though the German Constitution protects the privacy of the home, access cannot be refused if there is a threat of imminent danger. Random inspections, however, must be expected at any time and without any probable cause or suspicion. This increased right of the authorities to conduct inspections was enacted in 2009 in response to the Winnenden school shooting, and much has been said about the interpretation of this right….

Islam Invasion: Turkey May Be Partly To Blame For Istanbul Airport Attack

AMB

Istanbul’s Ataturk airport, Turkey’s largest, was hit with two suicide bombings yesterday that claimed the lives of at least 36 people. However, that grisly figure may rise further as there were also several dozen injured in the blasts, some of whom have been listed as critical. The airport was immediately shut down to commercial traffic.

There were conflicting reports as to the number of assailants with some reports claiming that as many as four were involved. The explosions were accompanied by gunfire with one report claiming that at least one perpetrator opened fire with an AK-47 before detonating his suicide vest. It appears that the terrorists tried to enter the international terminal but were intercepted by police. After a brief exchange of gunfire, the terrorists detonated their suicide vests.

Turkey has been hit with a spate of deadly bombings this year that has claimed hundreds of casualties. Today’s attack at Ataturk airport is Istanbul’s fourth bombing this year. In January, a suicide bomber affiliated with ISIS killed 13 people, including 12 Germans and a Peruvian. ISIS struck again in March when a suicide bomber claimed the lives of four, three of whom were Israeli nationals. Terrorists struck again in June when a remotely detonated bomb targeting Turkish police officers killed 12, including 6 police officers. That bombing was attributed to a Kurdish separatist group.

Another two deadly bombings have been carried out in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara while others were recorded near Turkey’s border with Syria as well as Turkey’s heavily populated Kurdish regions where the government is waging a deadly war against pro-independence Kurdish guerillas.

It would be unsurprising if the Turkish government placed blame for this dastardly act on the Kurds. It is not beneath the current Turkish government, led its Islamist president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to exploit tragedy to advance Turkish nationalistic propaganda.

While it is certainly plausible that this terror attack was carried out by radical Kurdish separatists, it is unlikely. Kurdish guerillas usually target the military or police forces or symbols of the state. They are cognizant of international opinion and attacks of this nature serve no strategic purpose and only work to undermine their cause.

The more likely culprit by far is ISIS and the attack is consistent with their modus operendi. The Islamist group has carried out several terrorist attacks in Turkey without regard for civilian deaths. In fact, the terrorist group deliberately seeks out soft targets with the aim of inflicting maximum civilian casualties. High profile targets like airports rank high on the group’s preferred list.

Yesterday’s attack is eerily reminiscent of a similar bombing carried out by ISIS terrorists in Brussels on March 22 in which twin suicide bombings struck the main terminal of Zaventem international airport. Contemporaneous with the airport bombings, another suicide bomber targeted a Brussels metro station. The blasts collectively claimed the lives of 32 people of various nationalities and injured dozens more.

If this was indeed an ISIS attack, and it bears all the hallmarks of one, Turkey has no one to blame but its Islamist government. Under Erdoğan, Turkey has facilitated the Islamic State’s rise to power. Turkey purchased oil from ISIS thus providing the group with cash needed to fund its operations and turned a blind eye toward the group’s activities along the border, allowing members of the terrorist group to come and go as they pleased. At the border town of Kobani, Turkey prevented badly needed supplies from reaching Kurdish forces that were battling the Islamic State. At every turn, they hindered coalition efforts to help the embattled Kurds but eventually relented under heavy pressure from the Americans.

Erdoğan, who is a Sunni Islamist, saw ISIS as a Sunni group with whom he shared much in common and believed erroneously that he could tame the beast and utilize the group as a useful proxy in Syria. That plan backfired miserably and Turkey is now reaping what it has sowed. Yesterday’s cowardly attack at Ataturk airport is almost certainly the fruit of the deleterious neo-ottoman, Islamist policies pursued by Turkey’s authoritarian leader.

Crusader Corner: Fast and Furious Part Deux…CIA Weapons For Syrian Rebels End Up On Jordanian Black Market

PART DEUX

A botched weapons program run by the CIA and several Arab intelligence agencies to arm Syrian rebels is being compared to the ATF’s botched gun-running operation Fast and Furious, which ran guns to Mexican drug cartels.

A New York Times and Al Jazeera joint investigation found that weapons shipped into Jordan by the CIA and Saudi Arabia as part of the classified program known as “Timber Sycamore” were systematically stolen by Jordanian intelligence operatives and sold on the black market.

According to the Times, this program, which began in 2013, is separate from the one approved by Congress in September of 2014 that the Pentagon set up to train rebels to fight Islamic State fighters.

That program was shut down after it managed to train only a handful of Syrian rebels.Jordanian and American officials described the weapons theft and subsequent investigation on the condition of anonymity because the Syrian rebel training is classified in the United States and is a government secret in Jordan.

While it’s impossible to know how many innocent civilians have been killed by these weapons, the FBI believes that some of the guns were used in a shooting last November that killed two Americans and three others at a police training facility in Amman.

The theft, involving millions of dollars of weapons, highlights the messy, unplanned consequences of programs to arm and train rebels — the kind of program the CIA and Pentagon have conducted for decades — even after the Obama administration had hoped to keep the training program in Jordan under tight control. The Jordanian officers who were part of the scheme reaped a windfall from the weapons sales, using the money to buy expensive SUVs, iPhones, and other luxury items, Jordanian officials said.

The theft and resale of the arms — including Kalashnikov assault rifles, mortars, and rocket-propelled grenades — have led to a flood of new weapons available on the arms black market.

Investigators do not know what became of most of the weapons, but a disparate collection of groups, including criminal networks and rural Jordanian tribes, use the arms bazaars to build their arsenals. Smugglers also buy weapons in the arms bazaars to ship outside the country.

ISIS has built a substantial arsenal of U.S. weapons taken from stockpiles captured from the U.S.-allied Iraqi military and Syrian rebels (who are infested with “Muslim Brotherhood types” and al Qaeda fighters.) The terrorists have to buy ammo for their American-made weapons on the black market.

Throughout 2013 and 2014, Christians and Alawites throughout Syria were under siege and slaughtered en masse by well-armed Syrian rebel terrorists. Syrian Christians blamed Obama for the carnage.

A Christian woman from the besieged town of Maaloula who had fled to Damascus, tearfully told a BBC reporter about the Free Syrian Army & Al Qaeda Infestation, and begged Obama to stop sending them weapons “because they are killing us!” When asked what the rebels she saw terrorizing the town looked like, she said said they were wearing “Free Syrian Army” clothes.

That fall, the U.S. House and Senate introduced legislation aimed at stopping Obama from arming the terrorists.

The simple three-page bill, the Protecting Americans from the Proliferation of Weapons to Terrorists Act of 2013, would have prohibited the president from “using any funds on activities that would escalate U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war.”

The fact that the CIA lost track of these weapons should not come as a surprise to anyone. It’s been known for three years that they were falling into the hands of terrorists.

The FBI investigation into the Amman shooting, run by the bureau’s Washington field office, is continuing. But US and Jordanian officials said the investigators think that the weapons a Jordanian police captain, Anwar Abu Zaid, used to gun down two American contractors, two Jordanians, and one South African originally had arrived in Jordan intended for the Syrian rebel-training program. The officials said this finding had come from tracing the serial numbers of the weapons.

Mohammad al-Momani, Jordan’s minister of state for media affairs, said allegations that Jordanian intelligence officers had been involved in any weapons thefts were “absolutely incorrect.”

“Weapons of our security institutions are concretely tracked, with the highest discipline,” he said.

At least they tried to track them.

During the Fast and Furious fiasco, about 2,000 firearms — including AK-47 variants, Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifles, .38 caliber revolvers, and FN Five-sevens without any tracking devices — were bought by straw purchasers and allowed to cross the border into Mexico. Most of the guns went to the Sinaloa cartel; others made their way to El Teo and La Familia. Hundreds of Mexican civilians were killed by the guns. In December of 2010, U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was shot and killed by illegal immigrants armed with rifles that were traced back to a Phoenix gun store involved in the Fast and Furious operation.

Crusader Corner: FBI Neglects To Inform Some Americans Who Were on ‘Islamic State Kill List’

Just another reminder to be self-sufficient in ALL Areas, especially Your Personal Security. Police are not there to PROTECT You! DO NOT depend on them. -SF

Perhaps to do so would have been “Islamophobic,” or Obamoid FBI agents were too busy conducting outreach at the local mosque to get around to informing these people.

“FBI didn’t inform some Americans they were on ISIS kill list,” by Sara Carter, Circa News, June 27, 2016:

The FBI did not alert numerous Americans that they were placed on secret Islamic State kill lists or notify their local police about the potential dangers, a lapse in the government’s efforts to combat the terrorist group’s evolving strategy to target everyday citizens.

To date, the terror group that goes by the acronym ISIS has published on encrypted web sites several hit lists naming more than 15,000 people it would like to see killed by sleeper cells or lone wolves in New York, Texas, Florida and California.

The lists aren’t public but Circa News obtained copies of some and made sample calls to the everyday Americans who appeared on them, from college professors and military personnel to art collectors and homemakers.

In Texas alone, Circa identified 22 people in a sampling of 24 names who did not receive any notification that they were in ISIS’s crosshairs. It also identified two local police departments whose citizens were on the list that also got no alert from the FBI.

“I was terrified. We live in a different world and the Jewish community is a number one target of these radicals,” said a woman in Austin who found out from Circa that she and several of her friends in the Jewish community were on a list. The woman agreed to be interviewed only on condition of anonymity, fearing using her name would only increase her risk.

“I’m very upset that I was not notified by the FBI or local law enforcement,” she said.

Since the hit lists began emerging more frequently earlier this year, FBI officials have said they intended to notify all Americans threatened by ISIS and to work with their local police departments.

FBI officials said they are confident most American on the lists were alerted in some manner but it was possible some people may have fallen through the cracks. They stressed to date no one on the list has actually been attacked.

“The FBI routinely notifies individuals and organizations of potential threat information. We perform these notifications so potential victims are aware of possible threats and take appropriate steps,” the bureau said. “Those measures may include paying close attention to your surroundings at all times, protecting personally identifiable information, and immediately calling the local authorities if you observe something suspicious. The FBI will continue to work closely with federal, state, and local partners to keep the public informed of potential threats.”…

Crusader Corner: CAIR Now Providing Aid to Orlando Jihadist Family

scream

If this sounds really familiar, flash back to San Bernardino where CAIR jumped in to stand with the terrorist’s family. Now CAIR is at it again in Orlando, as Paul Sperry reports.

If you are a member of the media or even an investigator with the FBI seeking to question members of the Orlando terrorist’s family or mosque, you will now have to go through a federally listed terrorist front group — the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Calls to Omar Mateen’s father and other relatives are now redirected to a phone number for a CAIR attorney, and another CAIR lawyer is sitting in on FBI interviews with suspects at Mateen’s radical mosque in Fort Pierce, Fla. — even though the FBI has suspended formal ties to CAIR over the group’s association with terrorist groups.

CAIR lawyered up a suspect who was interviewed by two FBI agents at the mosque for about 30 minutes on Friday. The CAIR lawyer, Omar Saleh, also happens to be a longstanding member of that same mosque — the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce — as well as a friend of the Mateen family. Mateen’s sisters, who work at the mosque and own property on the same street, follow local CAIR coordinators on social media.

As Paul notes…

Last year, CAIR intervened on behalf of the family and mosque of the San Bernardino terrorists, even holding a press conference for family members to help spin their story before investigators had a chance to talk to them. Within hours of the attack, CAIR swooped in and lawyered up key witnesses and suspected co-conspirators in the plot, including relatives and friends of the shooters along with leaders of their mosque.

CAIR officials defended the parents of the lead shooter even as they were placed on a federal terrorist watchlist.

“Those family members would have been key (persons of interest) for those FBI agents and other law enforcement agencies to interview after the immediate fact, to try to find out what the motives were and why this attack took place,” former FBI agent Chad Jenkins said at the time. “Instead, they’re doing public appearances with that organization.”

Again all of this is a reminder that CAIR is not a civil rights organization. There is good reason why so many people in and out of law enforcement are concerned about its terror ties. And the left’s eagerness to ignore the facts while championing its narratives.
