NRA Caves on Gun Violence Restraining Orders

In a not so surprising move, the NRA-ILA announced it would reverse it’s stance on “Risk Protection Orders” or “Gun Violence Restraining Orders”.

Truthfully, I cannot say this comes as a big surprise.

The atmosphere in Washington right now is so Anti-Gun it is pathetic.

Heck, even Corporations that have no dog in the fight (like Grocery store chains such as Krogers) are jumping on the bandwagon and BANNING gun magazines!

Frankly, I think this was a bad move for the NRA and ultimately another hurdle for all law-abiding gun owners.

Anybody that has had any exposure to the legal system, especially regarding restraining orders, knows how BAD this type of legal device can be abused by people with an “axe to grind” or who are driven by less than honorable motives. Plus, with the current hysteria level on the left at about a 15 out of 10, how many false or un-substantiated claims are going to be made against level-headed gun owners in the next six months? I say a great many.

Add to this the reality of how a case turns out ultimately rest in the hands of a JUDGE, not a jury of your peers. So ultimately the outcome of your case will depend on WHAT TYPE OF JUDGE hears it. Will it be a Conservative or a Liberal? And for all of you who think the Courts are “non-partisan”, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.  Judges are influenced by the bias of the media just like everyday sheeple are.

Big picture wise, I think the net effect of this law is NOT that dangerous people are going to be disarmed, but the OPPOSITE: legitimate gun owners having their Constitutional rights stripped from them IN A LEGAL MANNER and then countless hours of time and money spent by the GUN OWNER in the legal jungle of court cost and fees trying to get their guns back that they should have never lost to begin with.

Consider this story out of Florida where a man’s guns and ammunition were seized and the man taken to a psychiatric unit for evaluation (under the Florida Baker Act).

Being a veteran, I am particularly worried how this will affect us.

You must remember, every time we go to a VA Facility for medical care we are asked questions regarding our mental health, (regardless if we are there for that or not) and if we slip up and answer wrong (as a friend of mine did once joking around with a nurse) we get a free trip to the psych ward for a 24 hour “evaluation” and NOW with this new law we get our guns stripped away to boot. What a great way to show level headed Veterans you care! Send them to the crazy house and take away their guns.

To verify these kind of things happen not just in the VA Medical Clinics but also in the Private Medical sector, Consider this story about a former Police Officer and widower in Connecticut who suffered with melanoma (cancer) and made an off-hand remark to a medical technician about suicide and the next thing you know Cops are knocking on his door with a “Person Posing Risk to Self or Others” Warrant that allowed them to seize all 81 personally owned firearms.

Being a WW2 historian, I have to mention the HUGE elephant in the room.

EVERYTHING the Nazi’s did was LEGAL.

Partly because they OWNED the courts, but mainly because they had written their racist ideology into legislation.

The Nuremberg Race Laws of 1935 were the biggest travesty of Justice the world had ever known, and yet, it was the Nazi’s justification for sending millions of jews to the gas chambers.

Think about that one folks the next time you hear about a “Legal” Gun Confiscation for the “Protection” of a citizen from harming himself or others.

“Legal” Tyranny is still TYRANNY.

Hoplophobia in America is Fueled by the Ignorance and Mis-Direction of the Left

Make no mistake about it, Hoplophobia exist in America today because of a dedicated agenda by Liberals to convince people that Firearms are INTRINSICALLY evil and counter-productive to a stable society. One of the ways in which this is done is through the media’s and leftist pundits PURE IGNORANCE AND MISLEADING STATEMENTS  about firearms in general.

A great example of this is a hilarious article in Ammoland by Duncan Johnson titled Instagram vs CNN’s #FullSemiAutomatic AR-15I think the title tells you all you need to know about this, but just to make it clear:

There is no Such Thing as a “Full Semi-Automatic AR-15” folks!

What these morons at CNN are TRYING to do is confuse people with wordplay, a very typical SJW/Leftist-Marxist tactic used for centuries with great effect on the sheeple masses. The Word “Full” here is very often associated with what people hear in terms regarding a MACHINE GUN or “FULLY” AUTOMATIC WEAPON.

That has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with a Semi-Automatic AR-15.  Simple enough?

Another story that exhibits this willful ignorance and manipulation comes from a piece in National Review that discusses how the Parkland School shooter, Nikolas Cruz, DID NOT use High Capacity Magazines in the AR-15 he used to murder seventeen innocent people. Now what makes this story so interesting is immediately after the shooting, in typical liberal fashion, demands were made to BAN not only “Assault Weapons”  (which is another grossly inaccurate term meant to confuse the argument) but also High-Capacity Magazines right along with it. Why is that? Because in the pathology of the anti-gun liberal mind, high-capacity magazines are just as responsible for gun violence as “Assault Weapons” regardless if they were actually used in the commission of the crime discussed. The same thing is applicable at the Columbine High School shooting in 1999, which occurred during both the “Assault Weapons Ban” and the “High Capacity Magazine” Ban.

Make Sense?  Of course not! But Logic and Reason are irrelevant here because we are living in a Post-Modern world where FEELINGS and EMOTION outweigh COMMON SENSE.

Please, Spread the Word and Make Common Sense Common Again!

Crusader Corner: Defenseless in the Face of our Enemies

What keeps America from protecting itself against radical Islam?

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is adapted from a speech the author delivered this week at the Westminster Institute in McLean, Va. The topic: “Defenseless in the Face of Our Enemies: What Keeps America from Protecting Itself from Radical Islam.”

Two weekends ago in Orlando, Fla., in the wee hours of the morning, a gunman opened fire in a gay nightclub teeming with revelers. After killing and wounding scores of people, he took hostages in a restroom. He began calling police and media outlets, began crafting social-media posts, all for the point of announcing what was already clear to the nightclub denizens who’d heard him screaming, “Allahu Akbar!” — Allah is greater! — as he fired shot after shot: Omar Mateen was a stealth Muslim militant.

He was an adherent of radical Islam who committed his atrocity in furtherance of its ongoing jihad against America and the West. He took time in the midst of the carnage to make bayat — a pledge of allegiance — to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the emir of the Islamic State terror network and its proclaimed caliphate.

By the time police barged in three hours later and killed Mateen in a firefight, he had murdered 49 people and wounded another 53, many quite seriously.

It should have been possible to see Omar Mateen coming. He was a first-generation American citizen, born in this country to immigrant parents from Afghanistan and raised in a troubled household — one in which the father is a visible and ardent supporter of the Taliban, the fundamentalist jihadist group that ruled Afghanistan in the 1990s, harbored al-Qaeda as it plotted and executed the 9/11 attacks, and to this day wages war against American troops as it fights to retake the country.

Dose of Truth: Let’s be CLEAR on what BHO Actually Said at the Baltimore Mosque

obama2

If you seek to understand Barack Obama and his views, the best place to go is his speeches. But you have to read them in their entirety, not rely on hearing them or on the media’s summary of them. When you do, you come to realize how often what Obama says is morally and intellectually confused and even untrue.

The most recent example was his speech last week at a mosque in Baltimore. In addition to reassuring Muslim Americans that they are as American as Americans of every other faith — a point that any president, Republican or Democrat, would and should make — President Obama spoke a lot of nonsense, some of it dangerous nonsense.

President Obama: “So let’s start with this fact: For more than a thousand years, people have been drawn to Islam’s message of peace. And the very word itself, ‘Islam,’ comes from ‘salam’ — peace.”

Why did Mr. Obama say this? Even Muslim websites acknowledge that “Islam” means “submission” [to Allah], that it comes from the Arabic root “aslama” meaning submission, and that “Islam” is the command form of that verb. That’s why “Muslim” means “One who submits,” not “One who is peaceful.”
Obama: “Jefferson and John Adams had their own copies of the Koran.” The primary, if not only, reason Jefferson had a copy of the Koran was to try to understand the Koran and Islam in light of what the Muslim ambassador from Tripoli had told him and John Adams.

When asked why Tripoli pirates were attacking American ships and enslaving Americans, the Muslim ambassador explained that Muslims are commanded to do so by the Koran. Jefferson wrote that the Tripoli ambassador told him that “it was written in their Koran that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman [Muslim] who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to Paradise.” That’s why Jefferson and Adams had Korans. Given this reason, why did the president mention that Jefferson and Adams owned copies of the Koran?

Obama: “And how do we move forward together? . . . It can’t be just a burden on the Muslim community — although the Muslim community has to play a role.” Most Americans would say that the American-Muslim community has to play the role, not “a” role in preventing violent Islam from capturing the minds of American Muslims and in helping authorities identify extremist Muslims. Obama: “Second, as Americans, we have to stay true to our core values, and that includes freedom of religion for all faiths.” This is so obviously true that one wonders why the president felt it necessary to mention it. Who doesn’t believe that Muslim Americans should have the freedom to practice their faith?
