Farnam’s Quips: “Debate?”

The “Debate”

Capable or neither objectivity, nor intellectual honesty, our leftist “media” continues to viciously denigrate American guns and gun-owners.

The “debate” is all one-way!

In a cynically fraudulent pretense of “fairness,” they occasionally interview an ostentatious competitive shooter (who doesn’t even carry of gun), a clueless gun-accident victim, or some batty member of a fringy group of paranoid lunatics.

They never interview Operators!

Operators quietly carry concealed guns all day, every day. We have other, heavier guns always close-by, but never obvious. Our guns are not seen, nor do we talk about them. We maintain a low profile, and none who don’t need to know are ever aware.

We conduct our lives so as to make toxic encounters unlikely to begin with, short and unceremonious on those rare occasions when they are unavoidable.

Because we keep and handle guns carefully and correctly, we don’t have accidents. You won’t find the nonchalant and apathetic among us!

We “go armed” as a permanent and deliberate lifestyle, and we teach valuable gun-skills and correct philosophy to the worthy among our friends.

We have scant patience with clueless liberals, who are content to remain deliberately ignorant, and then self-righteously shower us with the shallow refrain:

“Guns are ishy,” ad nauseam.

These same professing liberals need to watch “Schindler’s List!”

And while,

“Nothing is ‘foolproof’ in the presence of a sufficiently-talented fool”

gun accidents are at an all-time low, despite the percentage of gun-owning Americans increasing continually, conspicuously spiking whenever liberals threaten us (as they are now) with universal gun confiscation!

We Operators will continue to quietly go about our lives, doing our best to be of good service, enlightening whom we can, but forever shunned by the liberal media.

We are preserving, advancing, and refining critical weapon skills, an invaluable body of knowledge, for the benefit of the next generation of American Operators.

Therein, we will not fail!

Stay Armed and Stay Dangerous!

Don’t Fall for the Gun Competence Lie!

Gun Competence:

I’ve grown weary of recent editorials frantically warning us all that allowing school teachers and administrations to carry concealed pistols in school will lead to a “rash of gun-accidents,” because “… ‘those people’ just can’t be trained to use guns competently.”

If that were the case, I suppose no one can be trained to use guns competently!

The tired, liberal refrain, “You’re too stupid to own a gun,” is being resurrected, this time targeting teachers as the one class of citizens who are so feeble-minded that they should never be allowed to even touch guns, much less actually carry them.

That same ridiculous prediction was made (by all the same people) at the beginning of the armed-pilots program, which has subsequently become a more-or-less complete success!

I also recommend while you are over at AmmoLand, to read these two excellent articles regarding Guns and School Safety:

Stop Disarming Willing Teachers

Dose of Truth: Red Storm Rising!

There are precious few of us who can remember any “school shooting” that occurred within CONUS, before 1990.

That was the year then-Senator Joe (“… and all you need is a double-barrel shotgun”) Biden proposed the “Gun-Free School Zone Act” that was subsequently passed and signed into law by our good friend, and professing “Republican,” George HW Bush!

This signaled the ominous commencement of the “Gun-Free Zone” movement, and the simultaneous beginning of school shootings in America!

This legislation makes it a federal offense for even a police officer in a school to shoot at a terrorist, who is in the process of murdering innocent children, when the officer is off duty! It makes one wonder if any of these donor-seeking politicians ever actually read the legislation upon which they’ve voting!

Farnam Quips: Training Should Always Reveal Flaws

????????????????????????????????????

More on Rifles

(click on above link to be re-directed)

When we train, regardless if it is with tools (firearms, knives, sticks) or not, our training should reveal our flaws; either in actual technique, mentality or gear.

Revealing flaws in our gear and how we “load out” with our rigs to fight is something I can tell you from experience can not only make your life easier but also be LIFE SAVING.

In training with your rifle load out, ask yourself these questions frequently:

  • Does my rig allow me to move quickly?
  • Does my rig allow me to reload quickly?
  • Is my rig relatively “quiet” or do I sound like a coke can filled with rocks when I move?
  • Is my rig “flexible” in all fighting Positions? (ie sitting, prone, one knee)
  • Does my rig hinder my ability to take cover?
  • Can I access my trauma/med kit quickly and easily?

The part about “Military Costume Play” is so true.

So often guys buy gear and dress themselves up and their firearms not from a practical fighting perspective, but because they are trying to look like the latest tacti-cool douchebag on the cover of Soldier of Fortune.

Come on guys.

Remove your head from your rear orifice and get PRACTI-COOL, NOT TACTI-COOLin your Training!

Book Suggestions: The Fundamentals of Shooting and Practical Wisdom from your Elders

These three books, all by John Farnam, need to be on every Civilian Operator’s bookshelf or hard drive IMO.

The first two books represent the fundamentals of gun handling, marksmanship and gun safety, both with Handguns and Long Guns. The third, Guns and Warriors, is what I would call “A book of Martialist Wisdom.”

I remember an old man once telling me that Wisdom can be defined simply as “Someone else learning about something (typically the hard way) and then passing that information on to you so you can navigate the issue more efficiently”. That is exactly what you will find in this book. 5 Years worth of emails, letters and articles aimed at helping you navigate this dangerous world in which we live.
