School Hires Combat Vets With Rifles To ‘Put Down’ Active Shooters

Preventative Measures are always a good thing in regards to School Safety.

Somebody at Manatee School for the Arts understands to stop a bad guy with a gun it takes a good guy with a gun.

PALMETTO, Fla. (CBS Local) — A charter school in Florida has hired two combat veterans to patrol the grounds with semi-automatic rifles to protect students from any active shooters, according to officials.

Principal Bill Jones said he wants to make sure if an armed intruder were to enter the campus of Manatee School for the Arts in Palmetto, they would be met with swift, overwhelming and deadly force.

“If someone walks onto this campus, they’re going to be shot and killed,” Jones told The Bradenton Herald. “We’re not going to talk with them. We’re not going to negotiate. We are going to put them down, as quickly as possible.”

Houston Gunfight, Deadly as OK Corral; Home Owner Uses AK47 in Self Defense 

 

For all those folks out there that say a semi-automatic rifle with a 30 round magazine (what you liberals call an “Assault Rifle”) has no place in a civilian’s arsenal, consider this scenario where a lone homeowner was confronted with five armed home invaders at one in the morning. If he had just been armed with just a handgun, this might have turned out differently. As the article points out, the Principles of Personal Defense  (and of war in general) demand you stack the odds in your favor and this homeowner did just that by having a loaded rifle at the ready.

Bottom line, Good guy goes back home safe, three bad guys go to the morgue and two go to the hospital and then hopefully, prison.
