The man who waited….

The family of man who froze to death in his stranded vehicle, while patiently waiting for promised help that never came, on a NY highway during a November snowstorm has just announced that they are filing a claim against the State of NY, the county involved, and the State DOT.

Of course, units of government have, through legislation, so thoroughly insulated themselves against all such claims that there is scant chance of this one ever seeing the light of day.

The victim in this case made numerous phone calls from his stranded vehicle to 911, AAA, et al and was repeatedly ordered to stay put, and assured that help was “on the way.”

That was a lie! Help was never on the way, and he died waiting for it. The entire LE and DOT systems were hopelessly overloaded, and State authorities, enforcing a travel ban, prevented AAA from sending a tow truck.

A government that has promoted enforced dependency, in a cynical attempt to garner votes from the chronically dependant and permanently unproductive, now casually admits that they cannot possibly live up to false expectations they themselves have promised!

Loosely translated into plain English: It takes virtually nothing to overwhelm the System, leaving naively expectant citizens waiting for “help” that never comes!

As liberals/leftists condescendingly denigrate personal preparedness [preppers], particularly being armed, out of the other side of their mouths comes the sheepish admission that, in virtually any kind of emergency, we are all “on our own!”

This is the kind of double-talk that infuriates voters, and should. Bureaucrats quetch endlessly that their various departments are “just not big enough.” Yet, with each growth in size, complaints, far from diminishing, expand exponentially. Bureaucracies quickly and invariably develop a cozy, symbiotic relationship with the very “problems” they are supposed to “solve. ” The cycle is never-ending!

Amid perpetual scandals, they always claim to be doing the best they can. Sorry, but this taxpayer is fresh out of sympathy!

What will save our Republic is an audacious rebirth of personal preparedness and personal independence, not more dependence and bigger and more intrusive bureaucracies.

With any luck, we are, at long last, leaning this painful lesson!

Humor: Brave DC Guardsman Run Toward the Sounds of Snowflakes

With Winter Storm Jonas ripping the Deep South and the Eastern Seaboard a new butthole, I thought this piece from Duffel Blog would lighten things up a bit. Stay Safe, Stay off the Roads if you can and Stay Warm out there! -SF

WASHINGTON — D.C. National Guard 1^st Lt. Patrick Hoover has taken a pledge to ignore his personal safety, family obligations and unscheduled telecommute to run towards the sound of snowflakes.

“There’s always someone that just as everyone else is running away for their own protection will run back into the fray,” said Hoover.  “These are today’s Spartans, sitting in cold armory so that others may sleep peaceably in their beds as frozen water falls.”

“It’s like what Mr. Rogers said,” added Hoover, munching on freshly delivered pizza. “When bad things happen, look for the helpers.”

Hoover has made the decision, again and again, to follow National Guard values and face fear to overcome raindrops, snowflakes, power outages and large crowds to protect everything we hold dear as Americans.

“Once, I had to drive a Humvee with no snow tires to get a little old lady to her dialysis appointment.” said Hoover.  “There’s no way to train for that. You just need to reach deep inside yourself and know that the army has prepared you to handle this.”

The capital’s inability to handle snow is legendary. To Hoover, the choice is about whether he was going to sit around complaining about it or become part of the solution.

“I saw a riot break out in a Trader Joe’s in Foggy Bottom over free-range, locally sourced chicken breast and organic Greek yogurt.” Said Hoover.  “I wasn’t going to stand by and ignore it. I called Metro Police, because I’m an American hero. An American hero without weapons or arrest authority.”

National Guardsmen will be calming local residents’ worries during Winter Storm Jonas by providing answers such as, “I don’t know, ask my sgt.,” “I haven’t heard yet,” and “I think it’s supposed to be nearby, right?”

On previous call ups, Hoover has selflessly picked out the peanut butter packets from MREs before giving them out in homeless shelters, eaten chili at a D.C. fire department and watched crowds at an all-star mega concert on the mall.

SSgt Quishada Slaughter, Hoover’s platoon sergeant, questions his lieutenant’s motives.

“He got here four hours early which is alright but I wasn’t going to,” said Slaughter. “But I think he’s just doing it for the rescue sex. Bitches love rescues.”

Slaughter listed her motivations as similar to Hoover’s.

“We’re just neighbors helping neighbors out here.”  Said Slaughter.  “By the way, to you have a charger for an iPhone 5?”

Hoover will be awarded the army commendation medal for his work informing ten civilians that yes, the metro will close at 11pm and not reopen all weekend.

Heads Up: Legionnaires Disease Kills 10 in Flint, Michigan Since Water Change

Something you may have not heard about since all this kicked off in Flint..All the Media has been talking about is Lead Poisoning, Legionaires Disease is something totally different and certainly more dangerous. -SF

Ten people have died and 77 others have been sickened byLegionnaires Disease in Flint, Michigan and the the surrounding area since June 2014, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced this week.  The spike in illnesses began two months after the city of Flint changed its water supply to the Flint River in a money-saving move, but health department officials say its too early to tell if the two are related. One reason health officials say they cannot be directly link the cases to the water change in Flint is the they don’t have isolates from case patients.

“While Legionellosis cases are not uncommon, we are concerned about the increase in cases seen in Genesee County,” said Eden Wells, M.D., chief medical executive with the MDHHS. “We are releasing this report and continuing surveillance and investigations to ensure that appropriate actions are being taken to protect the health of the residents of Flint.”

From June 2014 to March 2015, there were 45 confirmed cases of Legionnaires Disease, seven of them resulted in fatalities. From May 2015 through November 2015, 42 cases were reported, of those, three were fatalities. Those sickened ranged in age from 26–94.

Legionnaires’ Disease, which does not spread from person-to person, causes pneumonia-like symptoms including fever, cough, fatigue, confusion, aches and lung inflammation. It develops when water mist contaminated with Legionella bacteria is inhaled. The source of contaminated water mist can be showers, faucets, whirlpools, swimming pools, fountains or cooling towers in air conditioning systems.

Between 8,000 and 18,000 Americans are hospitalized with Legionnaires’ Disease. each year.  The condition is so-named because it was first discovered when an outbreak of pneumonia struck an American Legion convention in 1976.

NO! You can’t have my Civil Rights, I am Using Them Right Now!

A persuasive case is made that BHO was elected mostly by guilt-ridden, white liberals who thought voting him would somehow absolve them of the sin of personally benefiting from free-market capitalism. Sadly, happiness ever-eludes white liberals, so they do their sincere best to punish themselves, and the rest of us too!

Their “progressive” agenda is really “regressive,” as it seeks to destroy free-market capitalism, the best anti-poverty program ever known (see video below), replacing it with Marxism, a thoroughly discredited political/economic system that, over the last hundred years, has failed everywhere it has been tried. Specifically, it has failed to better the lives of real people. However, it has simultaneously succeeded spectacularly in keeping career leftist criminals (most of whom have never earned an honest dime in their lives) in political power in perpetuity, as they viciously, brutally quash all opposition (after first disarming them).

Whether in the UK, Europe, South Africa, or the USA, liberal/leftist/progressive dogma invariably flunks, because it tirelessly, (but, oh so piously) advocates for old, bromidic, ever-miscarrying tenets.

There are three:

(1) Perpetual poverty

(2) Government-encouraged criminal violence

(3) Class envy and race hatred

I find it comical when HRC refers to millionaires at “they.” Gee Hillary, don’t you mean “we?” Comfortable liberals claim to “love the poor,” but only so long as they stay poor! Poor people, kept perpetually dependent on government handouts, can be easily intimidated, terrorized, and “managed. ” Helpless, hopeless, dependent, feeble, defenseless, and ever non-productive, that is the liberal definition of “citizen.” In liberal theology, there is no room for a “middle class.”

The poor are kept poor through a welfare system that pays unmarried women and girls to get pregnant, have children, but never get married and have a family in the traditional sense. Such children are typically unloved, neglected, and abused. To no one’s surprise, they become unloving, neglectful, and abusive adults, at least the ones who survive childhood.

This discredited system is philosophically maintained through continuously-articulated denigration of the concept of personal, individual responsibility. From the president on down, liberals always blame someone else for bad results, never stepping up to the plate themselves. And, where there is no personal responsibility, there can be no personal initiative, nor personal ambition, nor opportunity! Bad individual choices are never the personal responsibility of the individual, so nothing is ever learned, and nothing ever improves. Everyone is a perpetual “victim” of someone else, someone that liberals don’t like, such as doctors, gun-owners, employers, et al. With such a personal philosophy, life-long poverty and misery are virtually assured.

Our “land of opportunity” is now the “land of hopeless victims.”

Who advocate for an ever-growing, suffocating government, predictably want all privately-owned guns first “registered,” than confiscated, leaving their former owners defenseless in the presence of armed criminals. After all, “The more crime you have, the more government you need!” Once again, with no individual responsibility nor individual initiative allowed, all become completely dependent upon the government for personal protection, of course an impossible task.

Cynically, liberal politicians are only interested in protecting themselves. “Gun-control” never seems to apply to them!

Violent criminals are thus a valuable resource, used by liberals to keep everyone else perpetually frightened and dependent. Why else would BHO order the biggest jail-break in history, letting thousands of violent criminals out of federal prison? Most are already re-offending. In time, all of them will.

 

As noted above, comfortable liberals, in a display of nauseating hypocrisy, continually denigrate honest wealth, while hiding their own. The “wealthy” they claim, must be punished for not paying their “fair share.” In Ferguson, MO and Baltimore, MD, in modern-day versions of “Kristallnacht,” we see local business burned down by the block, and honest business people thus ruined. But, who feels sorry for all those evil capitalists, those evil private-sector employers? I notice no tears being shed by liberal politicians.

One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But, just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed, nor enforced, nor objectively interpreted, and you create a nation of law-breakers, and then you cash in on ‘guilt.’” ~ Ayn Rand, again.

A State of Disaster Declared in Texas by Gov Abbott

Update: We had a F3 and a F4 Tornado touch down near  Rowlett and Garland Texas Sunday and Kill 14 People ..It was the second deadliest Tornado in Texas History, with the first occurring in 1953 in Ft. Worth, a F5 Tornado that Killed 114. I would appreciate your prayers and support in this desperate time. -SF

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster for Texas counties affected by severe weather.

These counties include counties in the northern part of the state hit by severe winds, storms, and tornadoes. As reported by Breitbart Texas, at least eleven are dead after tornadoes hit Texas near Dallas. The deadly storms left massive destruction in their wake and officials are still assessing the damage and death toll. Thousands of Texans were left without power.

The declaration applies to the following counties in Texas: Collin, Dallas, Ellis, and Rockwall counties.

The Texas Governor received a briefing from the Department of Public Safety’s State Operations Center and Breitbart Texas obtained a video from the press conference. (above)

The Governor reiterated weather reports that the possibility of more tornadoes was not over.

The disaster proclamation authorizes “the use of all available resources of state government and of political subdivisions that are reasonably necessary to cope with this disaster.” As can be seen in the video of the Governor’s press conference, the Texas State Guard and the National Guard are included in these resources.

The Governor’s proclamation further provides, that “any regulatory statute prescribing the procedures for conduct of state business or any order or rule of a state agency that would in any way prevent, hinder or delay necessary action in coping with this disaster shall be suspended upon written approval of the Office of the Governor. However, to the extent that the enforcement of any state statute or administrative rule regarding contracting or procurement would impede any state agency’s emergency response that is necessary to protect life or property threatened by this declared disaster, I hereby authorize the suspension of such statutes and rules for the duration of this declared disaster.”

Copies of the proclamation was filed with the applicable authorities.

In a statement received by Breitbart Texas, Abbott said, “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to those Texans who have been affected by this severe weather. “Please be assured that Texas is doing everything it can to assist in the challenges our citizens are currently facing.”

Governor Abbott added, “I want to thank the first responders and local officials on the ground and strongly encourage all Texans to heed their warnings in the coming the days.”

As reported by Breitbart Texas, winter storm Goliath is being called a historic blizzard. The storm is continuing to march across Texas leaving highways and roadways closed, snowdrifts that are massive, and power outages. Up to 16 inches of snow has been reported in Midland, Texas in west Texas, eastern New Mexico, and the Texas panhandle. Drifts of up to six feet have been reported in various locations across the region.
