The nominee to lead U.S. Africa Command has dealt with Russian mercenaries before during his time in Syria, and is planning to look into their operations on the African continent in his new role.

“I have some experience with these groups and specifically the Wagner Group from my time in Syria,” Gen. Stephen J. Townsend told the Senate Armed Services Committee during his confirmation hearing this week. “I think they concern me greatly, I’m sure they concern Gen. Waldhauser [the current AFRICOM commander] as well.”

Russian mercenaries have been reportedly active across the continent, where they offer African governments training and equipment much like U.S. troops would, but without human rights oversight, American officials said during the hearing.

Wagner Group, a private military company allegedly ran by a former Russian intelligence officer with deep Kremlin connections, acts as a Russian proxy force, officials said.

Lesson for the Day

Jeff Cooper once said:

“The only acceptable response to the threat of lethal violence is an immediate and SAVAGE counter-attack.”

So when three masked morons want to attack your vehicle with machetes remember that you have the upper hand: That 3 ton vehicle underneath you. Punch the gas and flatten them.

Also, irregardless of what TYPE of fight it is, whether you are on foot or in a vehicle, FORWARD is always better than BACKWARDS.

The reason for this is simple. When you are back peddling in a hurry, you cannot see where you are going and will more than likely trip (on your own feet or something else) and fall down. Or, if you are driving, crash into something and disable the vehicle. Both are Bad and put you at a disadvantage.

This is why the Spartans had the Motto “Always forward, never back.” Both as a tactic on the battlefield and as a mantra for life in general.

 

BTW this happened in Kenya (So much for cultural enrichment and diversity) but could happen anywhere, especially with the rise in ANTIFA street protest and civil unrest all across the U.S.

The somali immigration issue is a subject that is overlooked a lot of times in current immigration debates, but one that the Civilian Operator needs to be keenly aware of regardless of where he lives. As I have wrote about before, these people are purposely immigrating to small town America where the spotlight is not so bright and their deeds go un-noticed and before you know it, they multiply like rats and you have a virtual “Somali-Land” like in in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota.

The Mall Stabbing the other day in Minnesota just as easily could have went down like the Westgate Kenyan Mall Massacre in Nairobi folks; it is just a matter of time before it does.

 This is not Xenophobia, this is stark damn reality staring at you in the face.

Border Security Update: African Migrants Flooding Border Towns

To show you how serious an issue this is, I am over 400 miles from the Mexican border in Texas and in the nearest town to my residence I am already seeing Somali’s and “other” Africans walking the streets. Two days ago at a gas station two thuggish looking Somali’s in badly broken English tried to solicit a cigarette and ride from my better half to which she told them loudly and firmly (drawing the attention of two other patrons at the pumps) “I Cannot Help You Please Leave Me Alone” while having her hand on the grip of Her G26 in her purse. They mumbled under their breath and walked away. After she told me the story that evening, I was beeming like a proud papa!! She had done exactly as we had trained. I was Very Proud of her!

This immigration “Issue” has stopped being some ambiguous news story we read about every week folks. It has hit the streets where WE LIVE in full force and has become a legitimate security issue for the Civilian Operator.

I urge all of you to review and practice what I call your “Stranger” speech now. Most all of you have had some experience with this I am sure, but the main points I always drill on is to be LOUD and FIRM. You don’t have to be rude, but then again don’t be a push over either. NEVER apologize for not being able to help them! Speak LOUD enough to attract attention also. Predators don’t like attention.

Confrontations on the street with vagrants, immigrants and/or thugs are becoming a frequent event for a lot of armed civilians  across the country right now. Just recently, John Farnam posted a story and a Follow-Up from one of his students about a similar encounter at a Drive-thru window. It is a great review on both the verbal skills necessary when dealing with a possible threat and dealing with a threat while inside a vehicle.
